The dark horse or the black sheep????

It was enough already! Shiraz, sitting in front seat was already talking about forthcoming budget Pranab Mukherjee will present.. Niyati was talking about Yale Law School being better than NUS, Singapore and why law graduates should only pursue LL.M. from abroad and not do some 20k-40k range jobs, as she quotes, "why to undermine your calibre??" Diksha has decided to work in some hot shot corporate law firm, "studying further isn't her cup of tea, its time to reap in the benefits of what all we have studied in these five years. I'm gonna work for 2-3 years and then open my own law firm with Sukant", she giggled and rested her head on Sukant's shoulder. Sukant, flattered by his girl friend's gesture, "My dad tells me to go into judiciary and become a judge, but I really want to go beyond it. I already have Legala Inc.'s pre-placement offer, why not opt that, gain some experience and then be your own master after few years...? What do you think Dikshit?"

Dikshit...unlike his so called friends, he had no aspirations to go abroad for masters in law, to slog his ass off and work 24*7 just to earn some paper currencies and then further slog harder by being independent and to earn even more paper currencies..judging someone's life and death-a big No..He snapped, "Good for you Sukant, go for it! Enhance your marketability, Diksha's father is IPS officer, he ain't gonna settle easy."

Sukant, finding it a curt reply, asked back "What are you gonna settle for ultimately?"
There was complete silence....Shiraz, Diksha, Niyati, Sukant were gazing at him in subtle arrogance and flamboyance. He couldn't help but notice how awfully different they made him feel at times. Thank God Mr.Narsimhan entered the class room and begun taking roll calls.

Niyati was busy sending text messages to her 'girl gang' in junior batch, Shiraz opened his notebook and began glancing the previous lecture notes,Sukant and Diksha were as usual mushing and hushing with Sukant's intermittent carress on her cheeks, hair etc. 'Huh why can't some people just be normal for a change...give them a damn bed and few hours for christ sake', Dikshit thought...But the thought of what his future could be, was more overwhelming than anything else. He had a sordid expression on his face and was watching the wall clock aimlessly..

What made him so different from his fellow law students? Why is he anyway different? Sometimes he wished to be the part of the herd, sometimes he even laughed at it. His life was at the crossroads. (to be continued....)
